Police asked for the public’s help Sunday to find whoever gunned down a 23-year-old man in an alley in Lake View Terrace.
The body Angel Francisco Torres Jr. of Sylmar was discovered about 9:45 p.m. Saturday by officers who responded to a “shots fired’ call in the 12200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Rosario Herrera.
Detectives determined that Torres was standing in the alley when he was approached by someone who fired multiple rounds hitting him.
Paramedics dispatched to the location pronounced the man dead at the scene, Herrera said.
A motive for the shooting was unknown and the LAPD has no suspect description at this point.
Anyone with information on this homicide was asked to call LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide Detective Dave Peteque at (818) 374-1934. Tipsters can also call the LAPD’s 24-hour tipline at (877) 527-3247 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS. All tips can be made anonymously.
