A 43-year-old man accused of shooting a person to death in Banning was arrested after being at large for more than a week and remained jailed without bail Thursday.
On the morning of Jan. 12, Jason Rhine allegedly shot a person to death at a home in the 1200 block of San Gorgonio Avenue before fleeing the scene in a Kia Optima, according to the Banning Police Department.
Rhine was on the run for more than a week before being arrested Wednesday afternoon at a home in the 3000 block of Amhurst Drive in Riverside, police said.
He was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of murder.
Authorities did not name the victim or give a possible motive for the deadly shooting.
