Police in Long Beach Wednesday were seeking the owner of a watch recovered during the investigation of a homicide and series of burglaries.
The case stems from the June 28, 2018 shooting death of 21-year-old Imani Keith.
Rodney Scott of Los Angeles, 22, has been accused of killing Keith. Police also allege he is responsible for a 2018 residential burglary in Los Angeles and is guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Detectives believe Scott knew Keith and that the killing stemmed from some kind of dispute.
“As part of their investigation into the murder and series of residential burglaries, homicide detectives served multiple search warrants in Los Angeles on March 8, 2019,” according to an LBPD statement. “During (service of) one of the search warrants, detectives recovered a yellow gold Rolex, Oyster Perpetual Day Date, 40mm, men’s watch. Detectives believe this watch may be stolen property and are asking for the public’s help in locating the owner.”
Anyone with information about the watch was urged to call 562-570-7244 to speak with LBPD homicide detectives.
