A man was convicted Thursday of fatally stabbing a co-worker at the Wilshire Country Club last year.

The Los Angeles Superior Court jury convicted Erick Antonio Hernandez, 30, of Los Angeles, of second-degree murder for the Oct. 21 killing of Emmanuel Bravo, 28, of North Hollywood, who died later at a hospital.

Bravo was stabbed in the back with an eight-inch chef’s knife about two hours after the victim confronted Hernandez about a complaint he had made days earlier to management about a locked break room door, according to Deputy District Attorney Bobby Zoumberakis.

Hernandez — who had a 2009 conviction for burglary — fled the scene and was arrested the next day by Los Angeles police, Zoumberakis said.

Hernandez has remained behind bars since then.

Hernandez is facing up to 36 years to life in state prison, with sentencing set Oct. 16, according to Zoumberakis.
