A 27-year-old man was shot in the head Monday in Pasadena and died at a hospital, a lieutenant said.
The shooting occurred on Maple Street near Catalina Avenue about 3:15 a.m., Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said.
A passerby found the victim on the ground and alerted police, Hettema said. The man, whose name was not immediately released, died at Huntington Hospital about an hour and a half later.
Police have no description of the shooter, nor do they have a motive for the crime, Hettema said.
“We’ve canvassed the neighborhood and couple of people said they heard what could have been a shot,” he said. “But we don’t know if it was a drive- by or a walk-up (shooting) or anything at this point.”
Anyone with information was asked to call Pasadena police at (626) 744- 4241. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
