Authorities Wednesday sought public help in the hunt for whomever shot and killed a man and a woman who “were just hanging out” in Pomona.
Police also need to find a motive for the murders that the victims never saw coming.
The victims died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 10:55 p.m. Tuesday near the Perez Market in the area of Ridgeway Street and Barjud Avenue, the Pomona Police Department reported.
The woman was identified by the coroner’s office as Valerie Enriquez, 27, of Pomona. The man was identified by police as 37-year-old Hugo Reynoso, also of Pomona.
“It’s just sad,” Pomona police Sgt. Brian Hagerty said. “I mean, they were just hanging out … sitting on the curb, and they probably didn’t see it coming.”
