A 17-year-old will be charged with murdering a 43-year-old man in Hemet in November, following a months-long investigation, authorities said.
The suspect was in custody on an unrelated case, and will be charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. His name was not release “due to the ongoing investigation,” the sheriff’s department said Tuesday.
On Nov. 6, 2024, deputies from the sheriff’s Hemet station responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon in the 43200 block of Castile Canyon Road near the Soboba Reservation.
They found two victims at the scene. One adult male was located at a residence suffering from traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. An additional man was found near the residence and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities identified the deceased victim as Souriyan Souksanti, 43, of Moreno Valley.
Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact Investigator D. Robertson at 951-955-2777.
