A 40-year-old Ontario resident was behind bars Friday following an arrest stemming from alleged domestic violence.
Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station deputies arrived at the 100 block of S. Terra Cotta Road in Lake Elsinore on Thursday at 2 p.m. regarding a domestic violence incident. An unnamed accuser reported being “violently attacked,” according to Sgt. Daniel Flores, and sustained significant injuries.
While investigating, officials determined a suspect identified as Raul Salas fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was reported returned to the residence Friday at 6 a.m.
Deputies responded to the location and attempted to contact Salas, but he barricaded inside of the residence, Flores said. The sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau responded to assist.
Salas was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center with bail set at $1 million. He is expected to be charged with multiple felonies at his upcoming arraignment, including attempted murder. No additional information was immediately available.
