A juvenile is under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder in an unincorporated area near Blythe, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced.
Deputies from the sheriff’s Colorado River station responded to the 10000 block of Vernon Street at around 8:30 a.m. Friday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival, they detained a 14-year-old suspect who had allegedly assaulted another 14-year-old juvenile with a knife during a physical altercation, authorities said.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a hospital in stable condition. The suspect was arrested and booked into Indio Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted murder.
