A 36-year-old homeless woman has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and fatally shooting a resident in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles, police said Tuesday.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in a home in the 900 block of Alandele Avenue around 6 p.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
They found that the resident of the home, a 33-year-old man, had been shot by an intruder. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
Police said the suspect remained at the location and was identified as 36-year-old Jameelah Elena Michl of Los Angeles. Michl was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held on a $3 million bail.
Michl’s vehicle was her primary residence, and it was booked into evidence as well, according to the LAPD.
