A 52-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting death of his 83-year-old father inside a home in Temple City, the sheriff’s department said Sunday.
John Daniel McHugh of Temple City was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies were sent to the 4900 block of Halifax Road, near Lower Azusa Road, at about 3:30 p.m. Friday regarding a gunshot victim. They found Michael Patrick McHugh inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The younger McHugh was detained at the scene and taken to the sheriff’s Temple station for questioning, sheriff’s officials said.
